Strip Scale ("the app") is published by Metalgear Engineering LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains how the app handles information. The app is designed to run entirely on your device.

Information stored on your device

Weigh records you save (weights, dates, and any notes), photos you attach, and your app/printer preferences are stored only in the app's local storage on your device. We operate no server and do not receive a copy of this information.

Information we do NOT collect

We do not create accounts and do not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, contacts, or location. The app does not track you across other apps or websites.

Device permissions

• Bluetooth: used only to find and connect to your weighing beams; on Android the "nearby devices" permission is requested without location access.
• Camera: used only when you choose to attach a photo to a record.

Third-party components

The app is built with open-source components (Bluetooth, camera, file sharing, PDF, and spreadsheet export). They run on your device to provide features and do not send your personal information to us.

How information leaves the app

Nothing leaves the app automatically. PDF tickets, exported Excel files, and shared items are sent only when you explicitly export, print, or share them, to a destination you choose.

Data retention and deletion

You control your data: delete individual records or all records from the Saved records screen at any time. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

Children's privacy

The app is intended for business and professional use and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect information from children.

California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell or "share" personal information and do not collect it on a server. California residents' rights to know, delete, and correct are met by the local-only design and the in-app deletion controls.

EEA / UK users (GDPR)

Because data is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to us, we do not act as a controller of your records. You stay in control of the data on your device and may delete it at any time.

Security

Your records stay on your device; securing your device (lock screen, encryption, backups) is the best way to protect them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date above will change, and the current version is always shown in the app.
