Strip Scale -Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Strip Scale ("the app"), provided by Metalgear Engineering LLC ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms.

What the app does

The app connects to compatible Bluetooth weighing beams to display, record, and print weight readings.

Accuracy and calibration

Weight accuracy depends on the correct installation, maintenance, and calibration of your scale hardware. Calibration changes how the device weighs and must be performed only by qualified personnel using a known, traceable reference weight. You are responsible for verifying readings before relying on them.

Not a legal-for-trade device

The app is provided for informational and operational convenience only. It is NOT a certified legal-for-trade or weights-and-measures instrument and must not be relied upon for commercial transactions, billing, custody transfer, or regulatory or safety-critical purposes unless your scale hardware is independently certified for that use and applicable law is satisfied. You are solely responsible for compliance with weights-and-measures and other regulations.

Your responsibilities

Use the app lawfully; do not misuse, reverse engineer, or interfere with it; and keep your own backups of any records you need to retain.

Hardware and printers

The weighing beams are Metalgear Engineering products and are covered by their own product warranty and sales terms; these Terms cover the app (software) only. Printing uses a printer you provide; we do not supply printers.

Intellectual property

The app and the Strip Scale and Metalgear Engineering LLC names and logos are owned by Metalgear Engineering LLC. These Terms grant you no rights in them.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, METALGEAR ENGINEERING LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON WEIGHT READINGS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED USD $50 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Metalgear Engineering LLC harmless from claims arising out of your use of the app or your violation of these Terms.

Termination

We may suspend or end the license if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Courts located in New Jersey will have jurisdiction unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Severability & entire agreement

If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Metalgear Engineering LLC regarding the app.

Changes

We may update these Terms; the "Last updated" date above will change and continued use means you accept the current Terms.
